Naomi Thomas
PROFILE
Naomi has in-depth knowledge of strategy, sales and marketing, procurement, effective organisational management and the challenges of leading an organisation through change. Combining her knowledge with a strong facilitative style, Naomi works with a number of senior teams and boards, building lasting trust-based relationships, facilitating and leading healthy debate, and creating timely and incisive interventions.
Her own track record of achieving results in blue chip, start up, technology and consulting organisations helps Naomi blend her strategic consulting expertise with a practical operational approach when working with senior executives and boards on how to address the challenges within their own business. Able to work within complex and changing business environments Naomi is perfectly suited to help different businesses from niche service companies to large global organisations. Naomi has significant pan-European operating experience underpinned by a deep understanding of local culture and language and is often called upon to create and run change and strategic development programmes.
QUALIFICATIONS
Naomi holds an MA in French and Spanish from the University of St Andrews. As well as these two languages, Naomi is fluent in Italian and has spent much of her working life operating in all three languages (and a few others) and cultures.
While with management consultants, McKinsey & Company, Naomi completed their internal Finance and Economics programme. This was followed by the Integrated Management Development Programme with Cranfield University.
CAREER FOCUS
Following graduate entry into sales and marketing in ICI Paints Division, Naomi joined Black and Decker and progressed from product management to commercial management, growing and developing a variety of product groups and acquired businesses across Europe. Recruited by McKinsey & Company in 1994, Naomi worked on a variety of consulting projects across Europe with clients in broadcasting and multimedia, retail and manufacturing.
Joining building supplies specialist, Caradon plc, in the late 90’s she became the Business Unit Director of its bathroom businesses (Twyford, Mira) before moving to Eu-supply.com as its UK Managing Director with additional responsibilities for developing strategic partnerships and new markets.
Naomi has been a valuable member of the JA Consulting team for over eight years and works in a wide range of sectors including banking, insurance, professional services, consultancies, defence industry, oil industry, construction, food manufacturing and outsourcing/procurement. In parallel with her time with JA Consulting, Naomi served four years as a non-executive director helping Stuart Turner Limited through a period of change which included addressing strategic market and internal challenges as well as Board succession planning.
