Caroline Gowing’s training in Psychology and Human Factors combines with her practical experience in the military and FSTE100 companies to give her a unique skill set in visualising and simplifying complex strategic & organisational challenges making her an ideal information designer. Caroline can help an organisation’s leadership analyse the available data and simiplify this into understandable information and actionable strategies. What sets Caroline apart is her ability manage key stakeholders, articulate and manage the vision whilst maintaining an eye for detail. Like her colleagues in JA Consulting, Caroline works with clients to develop practical approaches and plan those, she is also excellent at implementing and driving things forward. A key part of Caroline’s success over the last few years has been her skills of working with a wide variety of stakeholders Caroline has strong relationships in the MOD at desk officer through to 3* level. Her military background enables her to see things from the war fighter’s perspective; she can balance that against her experience of working with Industry to get the right things done! QUALIFICATIONSCaroline has a First Class BSc in Experimental Psychology and an MSc Human-Computer Interaction with Ergonomics. With a Masters in human-computer interface with ergonomics and extensive experience of Human Factors Caroline is an ideal person to advise on the setting up, running and reviewing of projects with high human factors elements. CAREER FOCUSAfter leaving school Caroline joined the British Army as a Second Lieutenant in the Royal Logistics Corps, commanding an ammunition troop. She followed her military service with studies at both Bristol University and University College London, before joining BAE Systems’ Advanced Technology Centre. There Caroline worked on various projects involving user design, evaluation, requirements capture and experimentation. A secondment to Niteworks enabled her to diversify and manage several projects in new concept areas for the MOD. Moving back into BAE Systems, Caroline worked jointly with the MOD to rollout Through Life Capability Management and develop their decision support and visualisation environment. Caroline has been with JA Consulting since 2008 during which time she has built an excellent reputation for delivering complex solutions on time and with high levels of stakeholder satisfaction. Caroline has supported a large range of clients, particularly in strategic relationship and stakeholder management as well as business and solution development including visualisation approaches. Caroline has worked within the MOD’s Niteworks organisation for eighteen months as a project leader, benefits manager, capability modelling SME and facilitator, supporting both core, and a range of project activities.
