PROFILE

Becci has extensive experience within the UK Defence, Police Counter Terrorism, and Government and private Intelligence industries. Becci combines a military background with a broad range of public service and consultancy experience to offer a well-rounded approach to her engagements. Over the last 12 years, she has leveraged these experiences to become a highly motivated and effective management consultant who has become trusted to help Board Members make some of the most difficult decisions, then to implement organisational change and the IT toolsets to support those changes.

With a passion for how people react and interact, and a deep interest and knowledge of how culture affects performance, Becci has an outstanding ability to understand, empathise and communicate. She has directed these skills into becoming a highly motivated and energetic facilitator. Throughout her career she has been involved in all aspects of organising, managing and delivering a vast range of events, from the small and technically bespoke to the large and complex, across a variety of domains and audiences. Her strong track record in organisational and individual change compliments this. Driven to excel she continuously strives to achieve the best results, seeking success through collaboration and a ‘can do’ attitude. Becci’s innovative visualisation of ways to disseminate critical details enhances her reputation.

QUALIFICATIONS

Becci has a BA in Arabic and Persian from Oxford, an MA in International Relations, and is a fluent Arabic Linguist. Through her security career she has completed numerous specialist programmes including Hostile Environment Training, PRINCE project management and Military Intelligence Analysis management courses.

CAREER SUMMARY

Becci joined the Army as an Arabic Military Linguist & Intelligence Analyst, serving a total of 10 years split between the regular Army and later the Territorial. She subsequently transitioned to help GCHQ to develop their remit for Arabic language translation within a fast-expanding team, whilst simultaneously studying for her BA at Oxford University. Through both these roles, Becci learned how to perform accurate analysis in high profile, high pressure situations and to deliver effective senior level briefings.

Becci then joined the Met Police (Special Branch) as Head of Languages. There she developed their counter terrorism language strategy and provided SME support and advice on all language and Middle Eastern cultural matters. A member of the Command’s Senior Management team, Becci provided leadership during a time of culture change. She continued her education throughout this period, studying part-time for her MA in International Relations.

In 2007 Becci realised that she could apply her learning to benefit multiple organisations and became a professional management consultant, first with Agile Ideas Ltd and then Hitachi Consulting. She has provided senior-level consultancy to a variety of high profile UK Defence and Government clients: solving planning, process and organisational problems with bespoke solutions and accompanying Business Change support. Specific examples have included: development of a bespoke Risk Analysis and Management approach for a Defence HQ; acting as a senior change consultant for GCHQ, and delivery of complex IT solutions in the security arena.

Becci joined JA Consulting in Aug 2011.
