Andrew has a unique depth of experience of programme and project management, as both client and supplier with deep experience of ensuring delivery of some of the world’s most complex and challenging programs. Straight-talking and driven, Andrew brings high-energy and innovative approaches to any problem, balanced against needs of the individual, team and organisation. His track record of achieving results in both FTSE100 businesses and in Government helps Andrew bring clear and practical solutions to business leaders who need results. A former Chief Systems Engineer, Programme Director and 1* MOD Team Leader, Andrew can be relied upon to help teams identify solutions to difficult problems and create executable project plans which deliver on time and cost. As a recognised change facilitator with an enviable industrial, academic and government network Andrew has been used both to facilitate difficult senior decision making in a crisis and to lead programs until they are stable and predictable. Andrew has a passion for helping people to make the most of their inherent abilities. As such, he has been a mentor/coach for more than 20 people, several of whom have gone on to become business directors. |

Andrew holds a PhD and has utilised the requisite research methodology in every role since – refining the methodology and utilising it as a robust approach to problem solving in every domain. Responsible for original thinking behind Through Life Capability Management, Andrew is an expert in its implementation in both the MOD and industrial sector. |

Andrew’s background in academia was bridged into industry by formulating and implemented BAE Systems’ accelerated development scheme (Sigma) – which was seen as an instrumental factor in taking BAE Systems from 16th to 1st in the most sought after engineering employer according to the Times Recruitment Survey. This has been followed by 18 years in the Aerospace and Defence industry predominantly in EADS, BAE Systems and the Ministry of Defence. Andrew was responsible for reviewing the systems engineering design of the $2.5billion Skynet 5 programme and for leading the project planning for its implementation. Having developed a reputation for fixing bids and programmes, Andrew subsequently held roles as varied as: lead systems engineer on a short life-cycle product bid manager on a $multi-billion trans-Atlantic programme involving in excess of 16 business units of BAE Systems, to designing the structure of the land Integration Authority for the UK MOD. Andrew joined JA Consulting in April 2003 and his current and previous clients include the Ministry of Defence, a number of major defence companies, smaller software companies, large infrastructure companies, a biotech and a car manufacturer and he continues to utilise his skills across a variety of clients. |
